Today we celebrate the work of talented ceramic artist Alison Brent, who began creating marble-motif masterpieces well before marble became trendy again. Furniture knobs, t-lights, coasters and table lamps are a few of the artist’s many offerings. Our favorite part: the way sleek marble finishes combine with candy colors such as hot pink, bright yellow and mint green. Read on for more fabulous finds…

Alison Brent’s works of art are available through her Etsy shop, as well as her website. Above we see three furniture pulls featuring a black marble finish. Like all of her pieces, they are slip-cast in earthenware clay, with a glaze and enamel decoration.

The pastel shades that adorn these salt and pepper shakers (shown above and below) are the perfect complement to marble motifs in soft hues.

Alison Brent’s influences include Memphis-Milano design and a true love of marble. In fact, the artist worked in antique restoration for a few years and had the opportunity to work on many marble pieces during that time. Her current collection is titled ROCK ON IT. We think you can see why…

It’s hard not to get a Memphis vibe from these sleek coasters. It’s also hard to resist the urge to display them. So don’t–display them with pride!
