3 ingredients for festive New Retro design
Hey all you ’80s lovers! Today we celebrate the magic of affordable party supplies. I do my share of entertaining, and I’m crazy about retro style. I have three go-to ingredients in my arsenal, and I can pull them out of my closet at the last minute for a dose of ’80s flair. They’re cheap. They make a big impact. And they work for just about any occasion! Read on for all the details…

Colorful confetti
1. Confetti
This is one of my all-time favorite materials. Remember when Mirror80 celebrated its 3rd birthday earlier this year?! There was plenty of confetti covering the party table. What’s not to love about confetti?! I always have a bag on hand. In fact, I’ll likely be using confetti in my holiday gift wrapping endeavors this year. Stay tuned for more details in November!

2. Metallic Shred
There’s something about metallic shred that reminds me of 1980s music videos. I bought a bag of this stuff a couple of years ago for a few dollars, and it shows no signs of running out. Like the confetti, you can reuse it! We recently featured metallic shred in our Retro Halloween Buffet, and I have a bunch of this stuff on my dining room table as we speak, topped off with a row of pumpkins. Shiny. Versatile. Pure magic!

3. Candy Sprinkles
When it comes to sprinkles, I’m actually a fan of the large sprinkle-like look of candy-coated licorice. These little morsels of goodness are much larger than the sprinkles you pour on cookies and cakes, and they make a fabulous addition to any party table. As with the metallic shred, these colorful accents were featured on our Retro Halloween Buffet. If you’re only using them to decorate, they have a pretty long shelf life, but I toss mine after each party. They’re so affordable, you can get a new batch for your next event! Thanks for reading, and have a festive weekend!
