This week we were delighted to stumble upon a modern living room with a retro eclectic look. Created by M. Design Interiors, the space features a brown sectional sofa with tan pillows, which conjures a ’70s /’80s vibe. The white cylinder coffee table with a metal base can’t help but scream ’80s. Topping it all off is a mineral sample, which is timeless yet space age. In some ways, it recalls ’50s sci-fi films like The Forbidden Planet. All in all, the combination is FABULOUS!
The room is amazing in the way it seamlessly blends different decades of style to create a unified whole. This approach illustrates one way to bring the 1980s home. By creating a retro eclectic space, pieces are combined based on their form and style rather than by adhering to a strict “one decade only” policy. We decided to give it a whirl:
The Lilia Curved 3-Piece sectional sofa above has a vintage yet modern look. When combined with an O Cylinder Coffee Table and an amazonite mineral sample, the result is magical. To review: curved sectional sofa + cylinder coffee table + chunky mineral sample = design perfection! For more outstanding design finds, check out the blog of M.
