So you’re looking at this frozen screen, asking, “Why is Mirror80 posting an old travel video?” But we say: Stay with us–this is an amazing video that channels ’80s European style in a subtle yet effective way. And then there’s the song, so awesome that director Whit Stillman chose the track for the climactic scene of his 1998 masterpiece The Last Days of Disco, set in “the very early 1980s.”
Ryan Paris, born Fabio Roscioli, released this part-disco, part-pop hit in 1983. His charisma and boundless energy are contagious, and we can’t imagine a more compelling balancing point for two spinning rollergirls. Confused? Watch the video, and avoid the temptation to ask: “Did these women on the streets of Paris have any idea they were being filmed?”
