Style Icon: Terri Nunn
Today we launch a new series called Style Icon, and in our minds, the first to be featured absolutely had to be Terri Nunn. It’s hard to know what this lovely lead singer of Berlin was best known for: her hair or her fashion sense. But why choose? She could rock a period costume, as in the ’30s-inspired video for “No More Words.” People still emulate her famous black-tipped hairdo. Knit dresses, sequined formals, hats…she pulled it all off with effortless style. Happy Wednesday, Everyone! I’ve been in a thrifting mood lately, and the experience has restored my faith in the return of 1980s collectibles! I thought I’d share some of my favorite finds with you, especially those with interesting lines and curves. Some were a few dollars. And then there are those pieces that are worth paying a bit more for, especially if they aren’t that easy to track down. Like the retro Toyo vase above, which I purchased from Etsy shop Vintage Lanie.

Happy Monday, Everyone! Lately I’ve been in a thrifting kind of mood…and there’s nothing I’d rather shop for than ’80s Deco finds. If you read Friday’s post, you know that I’m on the lookout for some ’80s Deco decor for my powder room. This weekend I found another amazing vase (stay tuned for a future post sharing all my finds for that space). But I’ve also been on the hunt for some ’80s fashion finds! It all started when I found the gorgeous blouse above from Etsy shop Tigerlily Vintage. It has a tropical vibe that mixes well with exotic ’80s Deco pieces, and a rich color palette makes it perfect for transitioning into fall. Colorful ’80s Design!
Lately I’ve been obsessed with colorful ’80s design. I’m not necessarily talking Memphis-Milano style here, although there certainly is some overlap. I’m thinking of those contemporary homes of the 1980s that featured white walls, hardwood floors, and an abundance of radiant accents. Modern art, geometric motifs and glass block were a few signature staples of this style, as was a confetti-inspired festivity that looked good enough to eat.
