Today at Mirror80 it’s all about luxury…and nothing was quite as luxe as ’80s decadence. Start by doing yourself a favor and checking out the complete photo gallery of this California home for sale (shown above), built in 1989. But that’s just the beginning! As you can see below in an unforgettable room from Time Life Books’ Special Purpose Rooms, via Supreme Interiors and AnOther Mag, the beauty of luxe ’80s design is the way it combines neon lighting, plush textures, reflective surfaces, pastels and metallic accents. A special thank you to Tumblr faves 80s Heaven, Palm and Laser and Supreme Interiors (drydockshop) for inspiring us with these amazing photos. Because this luxury brand of ’80s design is all about a fantasy lifestyle where all that glitters is gold, jets and yachts are the stuff of weekend getaways, and carpeted stairs somehow make sense. They don’t call it the good life for no reason!

Yeah – another nice post Kate. Those spaces seem so warm and inviting. I’m not really informed about interior design, per se. But the colours and textures (and lack of iOS devices and laptops) make these rooms more personable than today’s sterile, luxury interiors. Totally love them. Thanks.

Thank you, Chris! I love these spaces as well. They are such a great escape from the responsibilities (and technology) of daily life–I totally agree! Thank you again for your comment.
