Today I’d like to share two DIY projects I recently created for Decoist! The first is a DIY Christmas centerpiece, shown above. Faux greenery and shiny silver spray paint combine with glass ball ornaments to evoke a retro-fabulous statement piece that screams Art Deco, Mid-Century and ’80s, all at the same time!
A DIY Christmas Centerpiece
The key to pulling this off is finding a bundle of faux tropical greenery, as well as a Deco-style vase (or an actual vintage piece, like the Abingdon vase below, which I scored at a garage sale for a very reasonable price)…
Add some spray paint, hot glue for securing the ball ornaments to the arrangement, and you’re set. For a tutorial and lots more pics, visit the full post at Decoist!
Boho Chic Ornaments
Remember my recent DIY wall hanging project? These DIY boho chic ornaments are basically mini versions of that DIY endeavor! And they’re super easy to make, especially if you have spare yarn and skewers on hand.
I also added mineral beads for an extra dose of sparkle. Your giftees can use these DIY treats as ornaments, or even hang them on the wall year-round!
As you can see, I had plenty of yarn and string at my disposal. I will say this: yarn works much better than string for this project, as it really fills out each wall hanging, adding to the bold ’70s-meets-modern look.
