There’s a still life revival going on as we speak, and over the next few months, we’ll be highlighting some of our favorite still life photography! Today we shine the spotlight on Gelatology, a workshop that uses the form of an ice cream cone as a way to explore eye-catching combinations of materials. The result: a variety of unique creations, many of which can’t help but ooze retro style. In a totally modern way, of course! Want to see more? Read on…
The entity behind this amazing project is Studio Fludd. The creations and photos are the products of their workshops, in which participants are invited to craft ice cream cone structures using a range of materials. Three adjectives are chosen to form the title of each work.
Here are some insightful words from the Gelatology site:
“Through the metaphor and the model of an ice-cream cone we explore milky geometries and marbled combinations of matter. The workshop offers a taste of Studio Fludd’s creative methodology, allowing participants to experience a process which begins by collecting and re-elaborating differing types of stimuli and concludes with a visually effective material product.”
