The Art of Georgiana Paraschiv

I’ve fallen head over heels in love with the artwork of Georgiana Paraschiv!!! Today we feature her amazing prints, available for purchase through her Society6 shop. From abstract lines and grids to marbleized color scapes, the hues and forms of her work are the perfect counterpart to 1980s decor. I’m in the market for a couple of prints as we speak, so today I’ve picked my favorite pieces–ideally art that will complement another favorite find (shown below), a 1980s Toyo vase from Etsy shop Vintage Lanie.

And now, a little background… We moved two months ago, and we’ve been on a tight budget. Little by little, I’m turning my attention to different areas of the house. I LOVE a good design project, and design on a budget is an exciting challenge. Let’s hear it for Etsy gift cards (left from Christmas), not to mention affordable artwork from Society6! I absolutely love the curves of the vase above. Not to mention, the crisp white will be perfect for my crisp white powder room. Plus, the cabinets and flooring of the space are a creamy hue, so the beige lines of the vase will help tie together the warm and cool tones of the room.

The vase was the starting point. Since the colors in the bathroom are neutral and the space is rather sparse, I knew I wanted to go ’80s Modern with the design, with a hint of ’80s Deco thrown in. Of course, I also want to bring out some bold hues for a dose of much-needed color. I was initially drawn to Georgiana Paraschiv’s work because of the lines and curves, but I quickly found the color palettes to be another big bonus! Above we see a piece titled Minimal Geometry 3. Below is the bold 0002.

I have a confession to make: At this point, I’m really leaning toward purchasing the two prints at the top of the post (titled Minimal Geometry 2 and Minimal Lines). But I’m definitely not set in my decision, so I’m brainstorming other interesting combinations… like the two marble-esque pieces below, titled (from left to right) Mirage and Drifting.

Then again, the bold geometry of a piece like Half Circle would be so striking with the vase…

But you can’t deny the appeal of a vibrant splash of color, as we see below with Black Dots on Coral:

Do you guys have any favorites? I’d love to hear your feedback…

A special thanks to Georgiana Paraschiv for inspiring today’s post with her amazing art! She has created many other striking pieces, featuring a slew of different colors and styles. Check out her work by visiting her Society6 shop, as well as her professional website, where you can learn more about the artist and discover the many other places where you can purchase her work.

Another special thank-you to Vintage Lanie for discovering the vase that I would purchase as the centerpiece of my modern powder room. Be sure to visit this well-curated Etsy shop for other great finds!

Happy Friday, Everyone!
