To say that neon has made a comeback is an understatement. Not only has it found its way back to our wardrobes, it’s even put its stamp on the world of interior design. In fact, I recently came across a DIY project for incorporating neon-dipped pine cones into Thanksgiving place settings. Yes, we are a neon-crazy culture at this point in time! Let’s see where it all began, shall we?… I thought I’d visit Etsy and round up some amazing vintage neon finds.
We start with the 80s electro hot pink pumps, complete with a rockin’ pattern that may as well be a background screen from the opening credits of Saved by the Bell. These works of art can be yours through Etsy shop Indie Queen. Below we have an 80s/90s neon wool sweater from Etsy shop Neon Stockyards. In fact, if you like neon, take note that this shop is jam-packed with fluorescent finds from the late ’80s and early ’90s. The sweater below was manufactured by the athletic company HEAD:
For a subtle touch of neon, check out these wild neon electric Candie’s heels from Etsy shop Fab Gabs! The great thing about these shoes (besides the fact that they’re on sale): since the neon “frosting” isn’t overpowering, you can actually wear them with other neon pieces. Or stick to neutrals and play up the day-glo fun with a few chunky neon jewelry finds.
Patchwork purses have returned! Once considered all but a design mistake in the world of vintage finds, these items have recently been elevated to the level of art, thanks to their garish fabulousness. And pink neon trim doesn’t hurt either! The neon multicolor leather purse below is from Etsy shop 20 Twenty Vintage.
A neon spectrum gently fades from color to color in the vintage rainbow day-glow pumps below. From Total Recall Vintage, these shoes are the solution to those “I just need one thing to tie this outfit together” kind of moments…
We end with another stellar find from Neon Stockyards! The “Just Do It” windbreaker even has a touch of neon green on the inside of the collar. And that’s in addition to its general color-blocking awesomeness.
Have a luminous Thursday!!!

I like the electric blue sweater. I got to check out that Etsy shop, and see if they still have it, or a similar one. Thank goodness I live in northern Arizona, and it gets pretty cold here, even snows.
