Neon Noir (#2) and Neon Noir (#1) by Dominic Joyce
Today Mirror80 spotlights the work of artist Dominic Joyce. His original paintings and fashion prints conjure the sleek magic of music videos, polished ads and fashion magazines. 1980s pop culture references appear in many of his creations, along with evidence of graffiti and pop art influences. Some of our favorite pieces reflect the vibrant, sultry world of Neon Noir, the genre that produced 1980s films like Thief and Body Double, as well as the television series Miami Vice.
In fact, Joyce’s most recent exhibit entitled Neon/Noir featured paintings of characters in candy-colored high fashion reminiscent of a Miami sunset. Joyce’s artwork is available for purchase through his website, as well as his Etsy shop Edgeware Arts. Here are some of our favorites:

Fashion and form take center stage in the images above and below. Black and gray provide a nice backdrop for signature ’80s hues like turquoise, magenta and lemon yellow.
