We recently welcomed a baby daughter, and I’ve had the best time filling her closet and nursery with kid-friendly, modern delights. This Easter I wanted her basket to feature developmentally appropriate toys, as well as hand-painted eggs. Abstract designs like the one featured on the outfit above served as my inspiration. It’s easy to decorate the eggs with lines (sprinkles!), dots and curves. Use a paintbrush to create the designs, and use the paint-dipped tip of the handle to create the dots. Yep, it’s that easy!
Check out the full post (complete with project details) at Decoist. I love how the painted surface of these wooden eggs was very forgiving. Whenever I created a marking that I wasn’t happy with, I could easily wipe it clean. Sometimes it pays to go faux! Once again, here’s the link to the wooden eggs I purchased for this project.

Those eggs are beautiful! I don’t know how it was in the States, but in Portugal, we didn’t decorate for Easter in the 80’s. Did you decorate, when you were growing up?
