Today’s video pick elevates the concept of a “posse” to the level of art. Never have so many random characters drifted in and out of one frame. And for the record, our award for “The Most Successful Orchestration of Random Group Dynamics While Wearing a Codpiece” goes to Cameo lead singer Larry Blackmon.
The truth is, we’re not too sure what’s going on here. More importantly, we don’t care. Because why analyze pure video magic? Were auditions held for the out-of-nowhere characters that appear in these four minutes of bliss? Maybe. But it’s just as likely that a handful of models and various studio employees were given minidresses and collarless zip-up jackets and told to take it to the streets. That is, the projection of city streets that serves as the video’s background.
We already feel like we’ve said too much… So press “play” and enjoy this piece by Cameo. Because only this tune could follow the group’s all-too-famous “Word Up!”
