For today’s Mid-Week Match-Up we continue to celebrate the world of Neon Noir, the genre that sparked films like To Live and Die in L.A. and television shows such as Miami Vice. Yesterday’s blog post explored the elements of Neon Noir. Today we put some of them to the test to create a room right out of the sleek, crime-filled world that the characters of Neon Noir features inhabit.
We begin at the top left with a poster from the 1981 Cannes Film Festival, available through Art.com at Amazon.com. At the top right we have an 80’s Pink Neon Spatter Triangle Wall Lamp from my friends at The 80’s Gallery. Because you can’t have a Neon Noir-inspired room without a touch of neon.
A Random Base Side Table from West Elm sits beside a white Porvenir Leather Sofa from The Design Studio. We’re loving the metallic accents! The teal pillow is from Outdoor Pillows.net. A Block Cylinder Coffee Table, also from The Design Studio, rounds out the look.
Polish it all off with a few metallic touches. At the bottom left is a potted palm (image from Ficus ‘N Fern). Finally, conjure a little ’80s Deco with Art Deco wall sconces from LightingDirect.com.
Now that’s a room I want to live in–but I’d make sure to lock the door and shut the mini-blinds, because in the world of Neon Noir, danger is around every stylish corner…
