Hi Everyone! Just wanted to check in one more time with some design-worthy Thanksgiving ideas to put you in a fall mood–with a retro twist, of course! First up: a collection of wall hangings that put a modern spin on ’70s style. Above (left) we see the beginnings of a wall hanging I created for Decoist using nothing but yarn and a copper pipe! My inspiration: the unique fall floral wreath from Design Love Fest (above, top right) and these fabulous yarn banners from Creativebug (above, bottom right).

An ’80s-Style Thanksgiving
For November’s Retro Foodie shoot, we present a berry-toned palette with bright pops of orange. I recently gathered my parents and hubby for a pre-Thanksgiving light lunch–some quiet before the bustle of Turkey Day begins. With one of my favorite ’80s art pieces as the backdrop, I designed a table that incorporates cool tones, autumn hues and some authentic 1980s decor. Read on for more details…
A Very ’80s Thanksgiving Palette
How’s your November going? Mine has been much busier than usual, and as plans for Thanksgiving are underway, I’ve started thinking about the importance of enjoying some quiet reflection this month. Celebrating with the entire family is an amazing experience that I would never give up, but it’s also fun to take some time with friends, or even smaller groups of family members. Fall dinner parties are one of my favorite endeavors, and today we dream up an ’80s-style Thanksgiving palette for our next Retro Foodie photo shoot. Use it for Thanksgiving dinner, or for a smaller gathering of loved ones this fall! Read on for more details…
Mirror80 Wishes You a Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksiving, Everyone!!! As you prepare to feast, take a look at this furnishing fabric pattern inspired by Native American motifs. This 1980s pattern is called Zeebak, and it was designed by Liberty. We love the striped mishmash of ’80s Southwestern designs, and the way it could easily be worn today (or be used to upholster your sofa pillows).
