Hi there! Today I thought I’d share some of my shopping endeavors with you. With the new year comes new opportunities to solve interior design dilemmas. For me at home, the issues were low lighting throughout the house (not fun in the winter months), a shredded cotton dhurrie rug that made the living room look a bit run down, the need to add decor to bathroom countertops without cluttering them, and an empty space that was begging for a small desk. Below I’ll share what my hubby and I purchased from IKEA. Note: most of these items are super budget-friendly!
An ’80s Ceramic Swan Song
Sometimes you just have to get dramatic…and today’s photo shoot is all about ’80s drama of the interior design variety! The summer that I began writing this blog, I started seriously collecting 1980s decor. One of my favorite activities was going from thrift store to thrift store hunting down ceramics from the Decade of Decadence. One thing that I could always count on finding: ceramic swans.
New Decor/Retro Flair: Spring Collections
The spring collections are in, and today I’m rounding up my favorite new finds with retro flair. It’s not unusual for elements from the past to be making their way into our current decor, but it’s fun when you can turn to mainstream retailers and grab affordable items that reinforce the retro vibe you’re going for at home. Hot Chocolate and Holiday Snacks
Happy Holidays! Don’t forget to make them sparkle. Today’s post is all about the power of a silver fringe curtain. And creme de menthe. I’m all about easy-to-prepare holiday snacks, and this one takes the cake. Or shall I say, takes the truffles. Serve popcorn and store-bought truffles, and wash them down with spiked hot chocolate. You’ve got your sweet, your salty and your minty, thanks to the “spiked” part. Read on for details…
Holiday Gift Guide: Sculptural Z Gallerie Finds
Happy Holidays! Today I’m sharing one more gift guide, this time featuring the interesting and sculptural finds of Z Gallerie. This brand has a glamorous, BIG aesthetic, and it can be hard to see past the sparkle. But when I take the time to shop for unique gifts and really look over all of the merchandise, I’m always delighted to find unusual items that can veer into retro territory.

Let’s get started…
