Happy Friday, Everyone! Do you know what we at Mirror80 love more than ’80s-style summer days? ’80s-style summer nights! And with this hot weekend on the horizon, it’s hard to imagine not taking advantage of the breezy evenings. Check out some of our latest New Retro finds and delicious treats (details below). Here’s what’s on our weekend plate…
1. A visit to San Antonio. My hubby and I are heading to San Antonio tomorrow night to have dinner with family members we can’t wait to see! So of course, we need some good driving music… I recently discovered the track “Under Your Spell” by Desire, from the Drive soundtrack. At the top left of the montage above, we see cover art for the song, courtesy of the band’s record label Italians Do It Better.
Another amazing driving song: “Mr. Overtime” by Punks Jump Up featuring Dave 1 of Chromeo. We featured this track as a Friday Video Pick back in September. You won’t want to miss the amazing animation (a screen shot is featured at the bottom of the montage above). Check out the vid here.
2. Photo shoot fun! I mentioned that I’m planning a Neon Noir Night, right? I’ll be photographing the food, drinks and decor, and this weekend I’m finalizing the menu. I know a great cocktail will be involved, as well as a salmon dish of some sort. Above we see a shot of a citrus-y drink courtesy of The F-List. And the image of salmon tartare on a potato chip comes from I’m Hungry and Proud of It. Finally, what’s a Neon Noir Night without neon? I’m thinking some glow sticks are in order…
3. Easy breezy relaxation. So it’s been a stressful couple of months. I seriously need to unwind. Those palm trees above make me want to spend a night on the patio with some good music, good food and good company. Or head to the pool for a soak. What’s on your weekend agenda?
Whatever you end up doing, I hope it’s retro-fabulous! Have a good one…
