Hi there! Today I thought I’d share some of my shopping endeavors with you. With the new year comes new opportunities to solve interior design dilemmas. For me at home, the issues were low lighting throughout the house (not fun in the winter months), a shredded cotton dhurrie rug that made the living room look a bit run down, the need to add decor to bathroom countertops without cluttering them, and an empty space that was begging for a small desk. Below I’ll share what my hubby and I purchased from IKEA. Note: most of these items are super budget-friendly! In fact, it’s shocking how much we were able to purchase for such a small sum of money. Read on for links and details…
DETAILS: 1. KARDEMUMMA pots in various sizes, 2. FADO table lamp in white, 3. MICKE desk in white, 4. SINNERLIG table lamp, 5. NILSERIK stool in green, 6. TJAREBY flatwoven rug
The small desk comes in a few different color options (including white with a blue drawer), and there are different size options as well. We went with the smallest! The green stool adds so much color, and we love the retro look. The lamps have helped immensely. In fact, we purchased two of the spherical FADO lamps, as well as a floor lamp that wasn’t included in the montage. So affordable, and such a big difference in terms of indoor lighting! The white pots were the perfect solution for adding greenery to the powder room while keeping the look clean-lined on the countertops.
Our biggest splurge: that flatwoven rug! After the cotton dhurrie we purchased last year disintegrated over the course of twelve months, we decided to step it up and go with a quality wool piece. And we love the modern yet relaxed look of this cream and royal blue rug. Here are a couple of close-up shots:
