With New Memphis design and still life style going strong in the realm of product photography, it’s no surprise that big brands are wholeheartedly embracing the look for their large campaigns. The latest is Target, whose Back to College shoot is covered with grids, sprinkles, squiggles and geo flair. And since one of my favorite pastimes is “spot the Memphis,” I had to share these photos as soon as they came across my radar…
Above we see promotional photos for Target’s “College Bedding” and “College Furniture” collections. Below it’s all about “College Storage & Organization” and “College Bath”. ’80s-style patterns such as sprinkles/dashes and a large blue grid definitely add a playful element to the photos. And so does the color blocking, as well as the highly stylized vignettes. I want a pink pineapple for my storage crate!
Curious about the talent behind this look? It’s none other than Adi Goodrich, a Los Angeles-based art director and set designer who (with her team) creates all of her sets by hand!
