Hi Everyone–it’s the beginning of a new week, and we at Mirror80 are in the middle of an ’80s interior design love fest. Last week we took a look at some pics of bedrooms from the 1980s. We ended the week by exploring a few sources of 1980s design inspiration, from clothing patterns to retro stickers. Today we continue the fun by looking back at some of our favorite ’80s design pictures and the posts they came from. Read on for more details…
At the top of the post we see an ’80s-style vanity, complete with a crystal swan and retro perfume bottles. Check out the full post here, and don’t miss its companion piece, which explores the colorful wonder of the ’80s teen vanity.
Below we combine two of our favorite design elements: ’80s Southwestern style and fresh produce! First featured in our Retro Foodie Thanksgiving post, this look is anything but seasonal…
We’re officially obsessed with marble. And then we realized that so is the rest of the design world at this time! The easy DIY geometric marble tile project below combines two of our favorite art supplies: contact paper and affordable tile from the home improvement store. Anything that evokes geometric design and the chic flooring of a swanky lobby gets our vote!
Let’s hear it for tropical foliage! Especially when placed in an ’80s Deco vase and set against the backdrop of miniblinds. The arrangement below was created for our Neon Noir party last summer. Check out the full post here.
In the summer of 2012, we partnered with Peter Tung of Peter Tung Photography for two photoshoots featuring lots of ’80s style. This was the setting for our second shoot. Because who doesn’t love an office park filled with glass block and metal columns?!
We end with a super easy centerpiece from Mirror80’s 3rd birthday party. Monstera leaves are the perfect long-lasting greenery choice. Throw in some confetti, and you’re done. Can you tell we’re already looking forward to summer?!…
Thanks for joining us as we looked back at some of our favorite design moments. Stay tuned for more great ’80s interior design posts this spring!
