Happy Monday, everyone! We thought we’d start out the week with an ode to ’80s-style wall art. While researching a blog post on wall murals for my Decoist gig, I came across some amazing 1980s-inspired geometric creations. I’ve written several posts on wall decals, but I never imagined there were options out there that channeled my favorite decade. So without further ado, today we spotlight colorful artistic finds that celebrate ’80s geometry…
First we showcase the power of grids and triangles with wall decals from Etsy shop beepart. Above and below we see their 80s retro geometric abstract set of vinyl decals. You can customize the design with the colors of your choice. Anyone else think this would also be fun for a child’s room?
Next we have this Geometric Art Wall Mural from Eazy Wallz. Consisting of 2-foot-wide panels, this peel-and-stick creation is printed on self-adhesive woven fabric. And unlike many adhesive wall art options, this one is reusable! The mural’s contemporary design definitely has a touch of ’80s…
Tetris, anyone? This next decal set from Etsy shop Yellow Bess is so ’80s, yet so modern! You get 18 pieces in each set, and you can choose 6 custom colors. Oh, the possibilities…
We end with a mural that isn’t for sale. But that doesn’t mean we can’t let it inspire us! This amazing work of art was created by Studio Moross for Google Big Tent 2012. It represents innovative modern design at its finest, and we can’t help but see a hint of Zolo and a dash of Memphis:
Below we see Studio Moross Director Kate Moross with Oliver Chapman. Ah, the brilliance of a gorgeous finished work…
We hope your Monday is a vivid one!
