Happy Monday, Everyone! This weekend I prepared for Mirror80’s latest Retro Foodie photo shoot, which will take place later today. The theme: Yuppie Cocktail Hour! I tested out the recipes yesterday, and my hubby and I enjoyed a swanky dinner of appetizers last night. Today I’ll be preparing the appetizers one more time, photographing them, then having my Mom over for lunch to celebrate the end of the shoot by gobbling up the goods. But first I wanted to share with you some weekend highlights…
For one thing, I was delighted to find the header image for today’s post when searching for glass cabinets online. These Italian pieces can’t help but have ’80s flair. Check out all the details here. Below we see a Blomus planter (available at AllModern). I have a smaller version of this sleek find, and this weekend I picked out a Dracaena to fill it. This ’80s lobby-style arrangement will be the centerpiece for the Yuppie Cocktail Hour. Stay tuned for shoot details and pics on Wednesday.
Another weekend purchase? This marble tile! Super affordable, it will make a fabulous ’80s-style “tray” for the photo shoot. I can picture my bright white serving plate resting on its shiny surface already…
Finally, I wanted to share this article from Seattle Weekly with you! While researching ’80s food, I found the piece, which follows ’80s culinary trends such as Asian fusion and raspberry vinaigrette. Love the artistic presentation of the food below, featured in the article:
Hope your week is off to a scrumptious start!

I want a metallic planter so bad! It would fit perfectly in our livingroom but I can’t find anything like it here in Sweden.
The glass cabinets were nice, perfect for collections!
