Have a glorious day, and if you’d like to take a trip down memory lane, check out this clip of the Cabbage Patch Kids float from the 1984 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Watch it here. Love and blessings to you and yours!
This material says Middle Eastern kilim to me (kind of woven rug). The pattern was everywhere in the 80s, especially as plastic tablecloths. And the colours featured as kitchen tiles (indigo, ochre, burgundy, forest).
You’re so right about the plastic tablecloths in the ’80s! And the kitchen colors as well. It’s interesting how styles cycle back around. I love how this pattern has a playful stripe/mishmash effect. Thanks so much for your comment!
I’ve been looking for this design for a while now. Are you sure about the name though, I cannot find any other references to Liberty Zeebak?
Hi Andrew–
Yes, I double-checked the name in the book (listed above), and that’s what it says. I’m sorry it’s been hard to track down! Did I mention that it was a furnishing fabric? Let me know if you have any luck…
