Known as simply The Beat outside of North America, The English Beat rose to popularity amidst Britain’s ska revival (alongside the mod revival)…So the ’60s-influenced fashions in the video for 1982’s “Save It for Later” shouldn’t be a surprise.
Lead singer Dave Wakeling is as animated as ever, as are the video’s extras! (Note: Wakeling’s contagious energy continues to be the highlight of his live shows.)
Also of note is the video’s cavernous feel, complete with skulls on the tables and skeletons on the walls. Enjoy this little sneak preview of Halloween motifs…
Happy October, and Happy Friday!
