I’ve made no secret of my love for Halloween! It’s a purely fun holiday, filled with treats, festivity and costumes. And there’s nothing like watching a slew of ’80s horror movies as the big day approaches. Candy and popcorn go a long way in satisfying sweet and salty cravings, but why not take it a step further with a special dessert I like to call the Reese’s Peanut Butter Milkshake? What could be better than an ice cream-based treat that showcases some of the most popular candy of the 1980s?! Keep reading for the recipe and details…
Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need to whip up this decadent treat:
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate ice cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons peanut butter
- 3 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
- whipped cream
- 1 small pack of Reese’s Pieces
Blend and Serve
I’m certainly not the first person to create a Reese’s-themed milkshake, but rest assured I spent days perfecting this recipe so it was decadent without being so rich you couldn’t enjoy each sip! And you can bet those days of recipe perfecting involved quite a few tastings. Here’s how you put it all together…
Directions:
Add the chocolate ice cream, milk and peanut butter to the blender. Use your hands to crumble two Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups over the ingredients, and then blend. This recipe serves one, but you can double it for twice the fun! Pour the mixture into a glass and top with whipped cream. For a special touch, sprinkle crushed Reese’s Pieces over the whipped cream and garnish with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup (or half of one).
You can tweak this recipe to create your very own picture-perfect dessert. If you’re nutty about peanut butter, add a third or a fourth teaspoon to the mixture. Not to mention, adding more milk will help you stretch the recipe and create a refreshing mixture. Experiment and enjoy!
Don’t forget to pair this dessert with an ’80s-fabulous Halloween movie, such as Night of the Creeps! Enjoy! XOXO, Kate
