Happy October! Let’s kick off the month with a festive beverage recipe, shall we?! Whether you’re having friends over for Halloween cocktails or mixing up a delicious drink for fall, you’ll enjoy the fruity tang of this Pomegranate Brew. It’s super easy to concoct, and you can dress it up or down. Read on for the recipe and plenty of spooky photos…
Pomegranate Brew
- 4 oz pomegranate juice
- prosecco or champagne
- a splash of orange juice
- sugar sprinkles
- pomegranate seeds
- orange slices
Step 1: Wet the rim of a champagne or wine glass and dip it onto a plate of sugar (or large sugar sprinkles) to create a frosted rim.
Step 2: Fill the glass with 4 oz pomegranate juice. I used Pom, which is naturally sweet.
Step 3: Fill the rest of the glass with prosecco or champagne, leaving some room at the top for finishing touches.
Step 4: Add a splash of orange juice, or get fancy by freezing some orange juice in a baking dish. Create a granita by scraping the top of the frozen juice with a fork. Add a couple spoonfuls of the slushy granita to the drink (which will keep your beverage cool and cause it to fizz even more).
Step 5: Top off your drink with pomegranate seeds and an orange wedge.
This recipe serves one, but it’s easy to duplicate or make in a big batch. If you choose to use an orange granita to add the citrusy tang rather than a splash of orange juice, you can top off each glass with scoops of slushy orange goodness as a special finishing touch. Enjoy, and Happy Halloween Season!
