Plants make a big difference in my world. They’re an easy, often inexpensive way to add that perfect finishing touch to a room or an outdoor space. Today I’m sharing a few snapshots of new spring plant purchases, starting with the succulent planter arrangement in the image above. You can read more about the selections (including the flowering erysimum) in this post, which I wrote for Decoist. Here are a few more of my current faves…
The blue Midcentury footed bowl was a gift from my good friend Sunday. I simply placed a small pot filled with a succulent in the middle of the bowl and voila—instant planter with a retro-modern feel! Below is a simple monochromatic arrangement of succulents and daisies. The “vase” is actually the Hoth Candle Holder from CB2. Since it’s only $5.95 (a fabulous price for a cut glass container), I bought four of them and sometimes use them as vases…
When it comes to small pots, I’m a fan of the sale shelf at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores. It was here that I purchased the ombre selection below for a few dollars. I filled it with a snake plant and put it in my home office. Check out a tour of the space here, but don’t go looking for this plant. It wasn’t yet added to the room at the time of the photo shoot!
Finally, here’s a shot of the quartz crystal, air plant and marble tile vignette that I keep on my bathroom counter. I didn’t glue the air plant to the quartz, although some people do. Luckily, the plant neatly rests on the flat surface of the crystal, making it easy to remove for soaking sessions!
Wishing you a lovely Easter weekend…
