Happy Monday, Everyone! I hope it’s radiant. On that note, I’m in the middle of planning a new DIY project: neon necklaces featuring colorful minerals! Thanks to Etsy, ordering the supplies couldn’t be easier. The basics item needed for this project are neon cording and chunky minerals. The chunkier the better! I’m not going for a super polished look here–just one hunk of stone on a neon cord. I love the combination of vibrant cording and rough, colorful minerals. Read on for some of my favorite finds…
At the top of the post, we see waxed Irish linen cording from Etsy shop TinkerCrafts. And what about all of the minerals above?…
MINERAL SOURCES (Clockwise from the top left):
Frosty Cape Lavender Amethyst from gemstreet, Agate Pendant from Great Northern Bead and Gem, Barbados Blue Hammer Faceted Agate from Tuula Gems, Translucent Green Fluorite from gemstreet
I bought the amethyst and fluorite beads, but gemstreet has plenty of other amazing selections if you’re interested in their merchandise. Regardless of where you order your mineral beads, make sure the holes drilled into the beads will accommodate your cord of choice. That info should be in the product description, but if not, you can always ask the Etsy shop owner before making the purchase. Above we see Korean Maedeup Cording from Etsy shop The Constant Crafter. I love the soothing light green shade–it will be the perfect complement to the more vivid minerals I plan on using for this project.
Stay tuned for a full DIY tutorial once I craft my neon necklaces. Can’t wait to get started!…
