At Mirror80, we celebrate ’80s fashion and interior design. And we’re lucky to have worked with some amazing photographers to help us capture the essence of 1980s style. Check out three photo shoots that celebrate the Decade of Decadence in all of its glory. Don’t forget to follow the links under the photos to reach the original blog posts…
1. An Office Park Photo Shoot
In August of 2013, we headed to an office park filled with glass block windows and steel columns. It was the perfect setting for our ’80s-style shoot featuring model Sarah Gardner of the Kim Dawson Agency. Friend and talented photographer Peter Tung of Peter Tung Photography was on hand to capture the magic, along with stylist Matthew Klimek of MDK Styling, who featured clothing and accessories from New Bohemia. For more photos and details (including hair and make-up info.), check out this post.
2. An ’80s-Style Studio Shoot
That same summer, we enjoyed another retro-fabulous shoot with Peter Tung of Peter Tung Photography, this time in his studio! Once again styled by Matthew Klimek of MDK Styling, the shoot featured model Melissa Swanepoel of Wilhelmina Brown, who stopped at nothing to get the perfect pic. Clothing from New Bohemia was just the right touch, and I even got to contribute some ’80s jewelry to the mix, which Melissa is wearing in the photo below. For more pics and details, check out this post.
3. ’80s Ceramics Take Center Stage
The third photo shoot was pulled off with the help of friend, artist and photographer extraordinaire Ben Aqua, who photographed me in my home with my collection of ’80s ceramics in a range of hues–many of them pastel. Lots of swans and ’80s Deco vases! Wearing a dress and jewelry from Forever 21, I was ready for my close-up (to be used on Mirror80’s “About” page).
