Hi Everyone! As many of you know, I’m moving to a new place with a slanted wood fireplace and other ’80s highlights! There’s wiring for a pendant light over the dining area, and I’ve been checking out a range of possibilities. Here are a few “finalists”… I’ve zoned in on pieces with retro looks that range from the ’60s throughout the ’80s (although all of these basic lighting shapes continued to appear in homes throughout the 1980s). With that said…any favorites?! I’d love some input! Don’t hesitate to leave a comment…

I really like globe lamps, Im going to buy one for our hallway. They would look great above a dining table to! They are pretty easy to find second hand!
I’m a sucker for chromed details, it goes well with any style or colors. I would choose lamp number 1 or 2 🙂

I can’t wait to see the one you buy for the hallway! I hope you blog about it! : – )

The rattan is nice but i think would be washed out by the wood. I like the manljus.

The search continues… I agree with you about the rattan being washed out by the wood. That’s exactly why I haven’t bought it. I also like the manljus but need to make sure it’s big enough. I’ll post pics of the final selection once we settle on something!

Wow!!! Thanks so much for the links to these pics! I’m really glad to know about this Flickr account. I’m loving the geometry of the featured pendant lights, and it was fun seeing a few that reminded me of the rattan light above. Thanks again!

Thanks for a very inspirational web site which has come in very handy now that I am decorating my new flat in (mostly) the Memphis style. (I have also added original acrylic furniture like racks and tables and the very beautiful 60ties tripod cocoon lamps and other lamps dressed in white.)
