For this special “Halloween Edition” of our Friday Video Pick series, we present a piece by British New Wave act Dead or Alive, fronted by the ever-energetic Pete Burns. “Something in My House” comes from the band’s third album. In fact, this track from 1987 has a dance-heavy sound with a bit of goth mixed in for good measure. And the video does not disappoint. From strobe light-style flashes that juxtapose Burns’ face with the head of a wolf to scenes of the singer walking through the forest in dramatic black outerwear, the visuals in this piece are the epitome of ’80s-style spooky.
Be on the lookout for… a haunted castle with some amazing ornate furniture. Not to mention, a plethora of cheeky, eye-winking glances from Pete Burns. This is Halloween at its Gothic best, with a dash of Studio 54 to remind us that even when you’re being haunted by “the ghost of the long, long dead affair,” there’s always time for a party. And we can’t forget about the wolves!
We know that Dead or Alive has the power to spin us “right round,” but this is what happens when they crank it up a notch and add some dark motifs just in time for Halloween. Enjoy the video…and have a festive weekend!

Thanks, Kate! So glad you're enjoying it. Please tell your friends! Pete Burns used to go tpo the same gym as I in London in the 90's but I'm pretty sure he was virtually a woman by then!
