They are works of art with a wristband. They are slices of ’80s graphic design heaven. They are Swatch Watches, and they’re back! Did you wear two Swatches at once? Did you own a Swatch guard? After all, who needs to see the face of your watch if you can protect it with a neon statement in rubber. The good news: thanks to eBay, Etsy and vendors like SwatchandBeyond.com, you can hunt down the Swatch that got away.
Be prepared to pay for these vibrant collectibles, probably more than you paid the first time around. While many can be found in the $30-$80 range, rare Swatches in excellent condition can run in the territory of $100 and beyond. Today we spotlight the extensive selection of Swatch Watches for sale at SwatchandBeyond.com, an online store that helpfully organizes their Swiss timepieces by style and year.
Above we see the Coral Gables Swatch from 1988 (top, left), the Coconut Grove Swatch from 1988 (top, right), the Grey Memphis Swatch from 1984 (bottom, left), and the St. Catherine Point Swatch from 1988 (bottom, right). I don’t know about you, but I’m loving the mini-blind effect on the top two Swatches. There’s one for Crockett and one for Tubbs!
And now a little something candy-colored for the ladies…
There’s nothing like the pastel wonder of a petite Swatch. Above we see the Pinkdrip Swatch from 1989 (top, left), the Blue Lolly Swatch from 1988 (top, right), the Blue Cassata Swatch from 1987 (bottom, left), and the Pink Flamingo Swatch from 1986 (bottom, right). These look good enough to eat!
I’m ready to rediscover the magic of Swatch. I’m hunting for a small piece that showcases some awesome ’80s geometry. Now tell us about your Swatch…

Oh, I want all of those watches.
I had a colorful paint splatter-like watch as a kid. I no longer have it (or, can't find it anyway), and can't figure out what style it was. I sure want to figure it out and buy a new one. It had paint splatters on each number, then a blue band with red and yellow band adjustment things.

I have 4 Swatches from the 80s that still run perfectly. I always wear them, and get a lot of comments about them. I love my Swatches!!! They all have black bands on them now, because I want to keep the original bands in mint condition. They also have guards on them. The ones I have are Technosphere, Flumotions, Blue Bay, and Turquoise Bay.

My Flumotions Swatch just had a makeover. I was changing the band one day, and the plastic case cracked completely apart. I sent the watch to a man in PA who converted the watch to a Swatch Irony automatic. No more battery; but it is no longer water resistant. It has a lightning bolt minute hand now as well. The watch is still all Swatch components. It’s really a one of a kind now. The back of the watch is a clear crystal, and you can see the workings of it. It’s like 80s meeting 90s.

I love a good Swatch story! Sounds like this one got a pretty amazing makeover!

^^Yep, and it’s a one of a kind. Still looks great under blacklight too.
