Cute as an ’80s Valentine

80s mash-up

As you know from our previous post on ’80s Valentine’s Day Style, I’m trying to pick a motif for an upcoming Retro Foodie event: a 1980s-themed Valentine’s Day dessert party. The first look played up the “glam” with crystal hearts, rose petals and champagne. In an over-the-top sort of way! Check out our first mood board here. Today it’s all about a style we like to call ’80s Cute–geometry, hearts, bright colors, dessert-like motifs and more! We couldn’t imagine a more appropriate theme for a party that celebrates the 1980s and sweets. But we’re equally drawn to ’80s schmaltzy glitz a la crystal and roses…

Which look should we go for? The cute or the glam? Share your thoughts by leaving a comment below…

Definitely glam as it’s more stylized to the 80s!

Thanks for the suggestion! I did end up going for cute, since I went a bit glam for the last couple of foodie posts…
